At approximately 2037hours on May 17, 2019 AVSAR Team President, Crystal Wilson was contacted by the AVSAR Sheriff’s Liason, Deputy Chris Lavery about a missing child at the Sand Dunes Oasis Campground. The team was immediately placed on STANDBY awaiting further details from the responding Alamosa County Sheriff’s Deputies.
The report stated that a 7 year old female was missing from Campsite 1 at the Sand Dunes Oasis Campground in Alamosa, CO. The original report stated the child was missing for 30 minutes, but after further clarification the child was missing for 2 hours. Soon after the First Responders arrived on scene, the child was found by her father, unharmed. After the child was found, AVSAR President received a call at approximately 2058hours, from Deputy Chris Lavery to have the team STAND DOWN.
